Does Mathweeks have its own curriculum?

Yes. The Mathweeks curriculum is the result of years of research, ensuring that requirements of Indian and international curricula are satisfied completely, along with their key objectives and goals. Above all however, we have ensured that the key concepts of these curricula are delivered keeping the interest and ability of the learner at the forefront.

What if the Mathweeks curriculum differs from my child's school curriculum? Will it clash with what my child is learning at school?

The Mathweeks curriculum focuses on clarifying mathematical principles and concepts in accordance with the age of learners. Hence, it can never clash with any existing curriculum for math learning - only compliment it. The daily-practice worksheets may not mimic what is being taught in school exactly, but it follows its own logical sequence that ensures complete clarity of the concepts. As learners solve and grow proficient with these concepts, they will be able to naturally connect their learnings through Mathtweets with what is being taught in school.

What if my child is studying in an IB school, or lives outside India?

Our curriculum has been created after an intense study of various international curricula like the UK's National Curriculum, the USA's Core Curriculum and the Irish Math Curriculum, along with the NCERT syllabus. This makes the Mathweeks curriculum extremely inclusive, and works for all students irrespective of their board of education.

Math education today is fairly standardized worldwide, and content of teaching for ages up to 12 years is very similar across the globe. Where Mathweeks differs is in its approach to teaching, by following a skill-based inductive approach which considers the learner's experience to a great degree. This is what makes Mathweeks easy, fun and relevant to all learners.


Some schools are teaching numbers up to 500 in Grade 1. Why are you dealing only with numbers from 1-100 at this level?

The Mathtweets curriculum, and its entire approach toward math education, is free from grades, standards and classes. Instead, it has been divided into Levels which ensure that the learning escalates from being simple-to-complex, where the clarified basics of each concept open up the path to move towards more advanced applications of the same concept. The Levels are age-related, as per international standards of education - with no intention of proving one-upmanship, unlike some schools.

Each Level comes with its own description of the topics covered in it. Parents are welcome to read the contents of the Level, and select from the Levels based on the child's comfort. There are no hierarchies in these Levels - proficiency in one means that the child is ready to tackle the next one!

Won't my child lag behind if the school has a more advanced syllabus compared to the Mathtweets program?

If the school syllabus has more content than the Mathtweets program, so be it! While an insufficiently developed concept may last only for the academic year and fade away after that, learnings from Mathtweets will stay with the learner for life!

Mathtweets focuses on the learner understanding the concept or the idea thoroughly, developing the skills needed to master the concept, and then applying it freely to wherever necessary. It is not about reproducing concepts and applying them to a set pattern of examination problems - it is about opening up the world of math through skill, understanding, confidence and comfort. The difference will be before you to see!


Why restrict the practice to just one WorkSheet every day? Isn't math about as much practice as possible?

One of the most important challenges of any learning program is sustainability. Mathtweets has been designed as a program that needs to not just sustain the learner's interest for 40 weeks, but also provide engagement and joy through this period. In our view, there is no point in doing 3-hours worth of problems in one day, and then lose interest soon after. A child is more likely to not just complete a single-page Mathtweets WorkSheet in a day, but also look forward to the next one on the remaining days of the week!

Why don't you provide published answers to the WorkSheets? How would we know if the answers are right?

Mathtweets is not about getting the answer right - the focus is on learning, and having fun on the way without the pressures of assessment. The single WorkSheet, without any worries of confirming to a published answers, allows learners to carry it with them wherever they go, and discuss with either their friends, their teachers or parents whenever they have trouble with the method of solving. The more they discuss, the better the concepts settle in their young minds!

Are there any year-end exams to the Mathtweets program? That would surely help in evaluating the progress and performance of my child.

No. Mathtweets, as a concept, does not hold examinations and evaluation in very high regard. We live in a society obsessed with marks and grades, which makes the whole process of education oriented towards impressing, not expressing.

We believe that parents should take great pride in the fact that their children have independently attempted 40 weeks of consistent, daily math practice. That they enjoy this process and gain long-standing learnings from this process is the responsibility of Mathtweets.


I see many math worksheets available on the internet. Why Mathtweets?

Do realize that Mathtweets is not just a set of worksheets. It is a complete, comprehensive 40-week math program that focuses on knowledge, application, daily practice and the skills necessary for mastering math. It has been designed to take allay your child's math worries, and create a deep love for math through daily graded exposure.

Some portals offer similarly fun worksheets, at times for free, but one cannot consider them as anything more than puzzle sheets. They do not have the aim to create a meaningful, consistent and long-term impact on the learner's mind - something that only a completely structured and thoughtfully designed program for an entire academic year can achieve.

Online programs generate sums as per the level of the child, while Mathtweets has one fixed set of worksheets for the entire level. Why should we prefer this?

The online portals provide testing programs, not teaching programs. This does not aid the basic clearing of the concept, or how it operates - it merely becomes an evaluative method that becomes a competitive effort to gain points or stars. The concept gets left behind - those who can crack the problems excel, and those who can't begin to question their abilities, and hence their interest.

On the other hand, Mathtweets provides the child with a TutorSheet even before any solving begins. The TutorSheet has the content presented clearly and with visual appeal to engage the child, and enable him or her to deal with the problems. The TutorSheet - WorkSheet model allows to spend as much time, with as much help as necessary, to gain confidence and comfort with the concept - something that online portals completely ignore.

I can choose the problem topics from online portals to match what is being taught in school. Why should I stick to the worksheets that are being sent to me?

Again, one must subscribe to the holistic, long-term view that Mathtweets takes on learning. With our current focus on the primary classes, we are aiming for a strong foundation for math to be built. If the point in question is merely providing extra practice through solving as many problems as possible, there are many options online - in fact so many that it often becomes difficult for parents to organize it into a constructive, long-term exercise.

That being said, our soon-to-be-launched programs for secondary classes will have a module-based structure, where topics can be selected as per relevance to school curricula.
